A family crime shocked the village of Shënavlash in Durrës yesterday. Enver Balla, who was allegedly killed with a gun by his son Esmerald Balla, was found dead in a well.
The crime is suspected to have happened 20 days ago and was caused by conflicts over a safe that the 62-year-old had in his son’s room. It is learned that the victim had a safe in her son’s room, inside which there were 75 million old ALL, while she carried the key with her.
The perpetrator allegedly opened the safe with a flinging stone and took money for a long time. When the father wanted to take about 20,000 euros to invest in a house they were building, he found that the money was missing. There they argued and began to conflict. The next day, in the morning of August 13, they went out together and at their apartment, the boy shot him.
On the same day, 30-year-old Esmerald Balla went to the police and reported the loss of her father. This did not convince the investigators, who intercepted the phone conversations of the 30-year-old and discovered the serious incident. After the arrest, the author admitted the crime, saying that he killed his father and claims that the latter had taken sums of money from him.

“The citizen Esmerald Balla, a resident of the village of Shënavlash, reported to the Durrës Police Station that on 13.08.2024, his father, the citizen Enver Balla, 62 years old, left the apartment. The work to find the 62-year-old continues,” the police announced earlier.
Esmerald Balla made up a story, sending a message on her brother’s “Instagram”, telling her not to look for her father, as he had gone on vacation. He also stated that he suspected that the citizen with whom he claimed that his father left, could have killed his father and that the 62-year-old had no reason to leave the apartment.
“The other son of Enver Balla, citizen A. B., after being informed that his father had left the apartment, returned from Italy and reported to the police that he received a message on the social network “Instagram” from a citizen unknown to him. In the message, it was said that the family members should not look for the 62-year-old, as he was away on vacation,” the police say.
After these facts, the police say that they suspected that they were dealing with a crime within the family. The conflict between the son and the father happened over a sum of money of 7.5 million lek, family savings.
“As a result of intensive actions, it became possible to unravel the incident, capture and arrest the son of citizen E. B., 30 years old, who has admitted the authorship of this crime, after a conflict he had with his father over an amount of ALL (7 500 000 new lek, joint family savings) that he suspected the 62-year-old had stolen from him”, the announcement states.
