A very inappropriate phenomenon is coming to the fore in this campaign. The candidates on the open lists of the Democratic Party are fighting like gladiators… not to defeat their opponent, but to “kill” their friend. This electoral code has paradoxically placed them in a life-or-death struggle with the other democrat, taking away the votes of the democrats and weaving intrigues for them.
As for the “senators”, those on the closed lists. They have their mandate secure. Under these conditions, their campaign has focused on secretly helping their friends or faction on the open lists. But even these, within the fold of the Democratic Party, are spinning around, because they have no reason to be distracted by other votes.
