The opposition deputy, Dashnor Sula, also a member of the Electoral Reform Commission, has accused the majority and Lulzim Basha’s democrats of holding an illegal meeting.
Sula points out that 7 deputies of the Basha group have 4 members and the co-chairman of the Electoral Reform Commission, while the other 47 deputies have only one member.
“Only the representatives of the majority in the illegal Electoral Reform Commission gathered from the WC of Edi Rama’s Surreli villa and chatted with each other. No product, no work, no meeting in 22 months. They kept and continue to keep the Electoral Reform blocked, continuing unilaterally and without the opposition!
They repeated the same thing they did 2 years ago in the inaugural meeting of June 2022, with the clear strategy to continue blocking the reform that should have priority: the elimination of vote-buying, waste of state resources, freedom of vote , the correct administration of elections, the recommendations of the OSCE-ODIHR and the Venice Commission, or the reflection of the decisions of the Constitutional Court on the diaspora.
The photo below is enough to understand how right is the request of 90% of the opposition MPs (47 out of 55 opposition MPs) to appoint their own representatives. 1 co-chairman of 4 members who represent only 7 deputies of the Assembly of Albania, proves once again that the only way to realize the Electoral Reform that Edi Rama knows is through the appointment of the opposition.
