The husband of Olta Xhaçka, Artan Gaçi, appeared this morning at the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
After leaving the premises of SPAK, the husband of the former minister was asked by journalists if “what he was called for or if he had alienated the properties in the south”.
However, Artan Gaçi refused to answer smiling in front of the cameras and then left.
This is the second time that the ex-minister’s husband appears in SPAK after the arrest of the former acting mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro.
Seizure of 10,592 m2 of property
The Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) seized 5512 m2 of land from Artan Gaçi, the husband of former minister Olta Xhaçka, in October 2023.
After handcuffing Jorgo Goro, SPAK seized the second part of the strategic investment area of Olta Xhaçka’s husband.
The investigations showed that Jorgo Goro, in cooperation with other persons, through the falsification of documents, carried out the actual relocation of this land surface by superimposing it on another property owned by the state.
“The citizens under investigation have exceeded all powers that the law recognizes, expressing the existence of an overlap of immovable assets on the ground and then confirming a settlement plan, which does not correspond to the actual circumstances on the ground”, reports SPAK.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office informed that the settlement plan served not only for the subsequent transactions between different entities but also for the development of the property, including the equipment with a construction permit for a tourist complex in the name of a commercial company, which will be built on this land area , but also above that of 5,512 m2 previously seized by SPAK.
The entire area of agricultural land of 10,592 m2, which has been subjected to preventive seizure procedures in two stages, is in fact owned by the state and turns out to have been alienated and then developed by a private entity.
