CEC Chairman Ilirian Celibashi held a press conference today regarding the diaspora voting.
Regarding the problems that have been reported regarding the delivery of ballots to the homes of Albanians in the diaspora, he said that several problems have been reported, and that they are in communication with DHL.
“We are aware, we have communicated with DHL and have asked them to inform the branches that there are problems, that they are obliged to go to the voter’s home to collect it, in the vast majority they have done so, but there are also cases when they have not.
For whatever reason, the delivery process was done based on the protocol. We know that it is a limited number, but we cannot say that it is a high number, the number of cases of problems, of all kinds, does not exceed 100.
In one case, a voter made it look like he did not have the ballot inside the envelope, we were informed like this… we do not see a solution for this at the moment, it is a little difficult to provide a solution, normally someone could think of delivering another ballot, but how sure are we that it was the postman’s mistake?!” – said Celibashi.
